Script 10: Delegation and Empowerment (2-3mins)
Hi, I’m Amber McClure with Live Free Virtual Services.
Let’s be honest, there are some tasks that we just don’t like to do. For example, I don’t like doing (fill in the blank) at work or (fill in the blank) at home. If I have to do these tasks, I can, but I don’t enjoy them and sometimes I’m not very good at them. This is why it is so important not only to have the ability, but also the willingness to delegate.
You should never feel guilty about wanting or needing to delegate jobs or tasks to others. Handing off the baton not only frees up more of our time, but can also unload quite a bit of stress. If you need five tasks done in the next five hours and you can hand one or two of them off to someone else to complete, that gives you peace of mind to work on other just as important tasks which you actually enjoy doing.

You are still in charge of the details. Yes, someone else is doing those tasks, but you as the business owner still have the final say. Believe me when I tell you that being able to give the “thumbs up” on something someone else was able to do for you, in order to help you, and to be proud of the work that has been accomplished is one of the best feelings in the world.
